Booking your visit

We aim to make bringing your group on a school trip to the Museum as easy as possible:

  • Choose the workshop you wish to book;
  • Select a range of suitable dates for your visit, in case your first choice is not available;
  • Work out how many children, teachers and other adults will be attending;
  • Decide if you would like to pre-order souvenir gift bags for your group (£1.75 per child). Children love our popular Museum-branded pocket-money items which make a great souvenirs.

Contact bookings@avoncroft.org.uk or, alternatively, call  01527 831363 / 831886 to make a provisional booking – provisional bookings are held for 48 hours.

We will require the age of the young people in your group, the subject they are studying and if they have any special requirements.

Once received, we will send you a school visit pack, including a booking form and an invoice for your visit. Please note, payment is required in advance of your visit.

Return the completed booking form to confirm your visit.

Keeping safe

All our activities are risk assessed. You can download our general risk assessment below. For a copy of activity specific risk assessments, please contact bookings@avoncroft.org.uk.

Please read the ‘Group Leaders’ and Teachers’ Responsibilities while visiting the Museum’ document prior to your visit and ensure the minimum adult to child ratio is adhered to (Years 1-3: 1 adult for every 6 pupils, Years 4-6: 1 adult for every 10 pupils, Year 7+: 1 adult for every 15 pupils).

Although the Museum will endeavour to ensure schools enjoy a safe and rewarding experience during their visit, teachers and group leaders bear primary responsibility for the safety of the children and young people in their care. Children should be supervised by a teacher or group leader at all times throughout their visit.
