Avoncroft Museum offers hands-on workshops based on construction, suitable for topics including design, technology, science and nature. We aim to support the National Curriculum through the development of individual enquiry, communication and learning. Our workshops include a number of different hands-on activities for groups of up to 15 children per activity, and last 90 minutes. A visit to Avoncroft Museum including workshops, time to explore the Museum and our education resources, are suitable for school groups of up to a maximum of 60 children. Construction This workshop’s activities include creating a wattle and daub panel and hand-making bricks. Children (and adults) can take their miniature bricks home too! The Three Little Pigs This workshop includes an interactive retelling of the classic fairytale, as well as trying out the different building materials; making the themes of building and construction easily accessible to younger children. We are developing new workshops on a range of subjects, to make a visit to Avoncroft Museum even more engaging for young enquiring minds! Look out here for more information later in 2019.
