In 2020 Avoncroft Museum opened part-time for a few months, after closing for the first lockdown in March 2020. Visitors welcomed our booking and social distancing systems and enjoyed the safe outdoors space to explore. There was also restricted access to as many of the museum’s buildings as possible.

The museum has stayed closed through the winter during the government lockdowns in November 2020 and from January 2021.

Zoe Willems has just been appointed as the new Museum Director. She will be leading a small team to get the site safe  and ready to welcome visitors once again by the Summer.

The museum relies on visitors, donations and grants for income. The DCMS Cultural Recovery Fund is helping to cover costs so that we can get ready to open again.

If you want to help, please consider making a donation, or buying a membership through the website. Any amount, however small, will help us look after this special place.

We will update on reopening plans on the website and social media – watch this space!
