Roses and Castles Canal Art Workshop with Kerri Williams

Canal art grew with the development of canals during the industrial revolution. Boat owners took great pride in decorating their boats in bright colours and attractive designs, with roses and castles a particularly prominent alongside other imagery such as lakes, rivers, cottages and churches. These designs adorned everything from fitted furniture to watering cans to horse’s harnesses.
