Lavender Wands:

From the 18th century onwards, more decorative ways of using lavender were utilised, including the making of lavender wands. Lavender wands are made by weaving ribbons with the stems of lavender to enclose the fragrant lavender blossoms inside. They can be used to scent drawers, cabinets and closets and also act as a useful moth repellent.

Course Details: Learn all about the history, design, and making of lavender wands and take your own away for your drawers, cabinets, and closets.

Fee: £25 per person (includes museum admission charge of £15.00 per adult). £20 for members.

Tutor details: The workshop will be delivered one of our experienced learning facilitators who delivers a range of bespoke workshops and courses for the Museum.

Participant information: All materials will be provided.

Refreshments: Breakfast tea and filter coffee provided free of charge. The Museum tearoom, serving a range of sandwiches, will also be open. Sandwiches can be pre-booked by the tutor upon arrival.
