Introduction to Mosaics

Duration: 6 hours (including 45-minute lunch)

Course Details: Participants will learn:

Participants will spend the first part of the workshop exploring keystoning, whilst familiarising themselves with relevant tools and learning how to cut various shapes. They will then choose from one of four pre-prepared designs by Jacqui to create a 200x200mm mosaic onto an MDF board, which will be grouted, ready to take home.

Tutor Details: Passionate about sharing the joy of mosaic art, Jacqui brings over 20 years of experience in leading large-scale community projects and workshops. Having relocated to the UK from South Africa, she now hosts engaging and dynamic workshops for adults, school children, community groups, and corporate teams, all with a focus on promoting creativity, collaboration, and well-being.

In South Africa, she owned and operated Mosaic Works, a successful mosaic studio, and was a founding member of the Mosaic Association South Africa (MASA). During her time there, she led numerous large-scale community projects, using mosaic art as a tool to unite and empower communities through creative expression.

Fee: £75 per person or £70 for members.

Participant information: All materials will be provided.

Refreshments: Breakfast tea and filter coffee provided free of charge. The Museum tearoom, serving a range of hot and cold food and drinks, will also be open.

Cancellation Policy: All workshops are non-refundable, unless the Museum is required to cancel.
