Felt Making – June

Join us for the return of the wet felting course to Avoncroft Museum. Felt making is the oldest type of fabric making and is thought to have existed for over 8,000 years. Learn about the history of this ancient craft, master the basic techniques and produce your very own finished items in felt using alpaca wool. Lovely colours and textures combine with pattern and structure in this most ancient of fabric making techniques to produce items you will be pleased to call your own.

Our expert tutor will guide you through how and why many herbal remedies were used and relate this to the present day use of a wide range of plant-based tinctures, ointments and draughts.

Garden Hazel April 2020 – Morning

Using the traditional hazel material, our expert tutor will show you the process of weaving and twisting hazel rods to make your own garden borders. You can then have a go yourself at making your very own fence panels to take home.
