Transport yourself back in time and learn the historical craft of blacksmithing in our 18th century forge, home to a succession of blacksmiths up to the late 19th century.

Our courses are suitable for all levels of experience; whether you are a complete beginner or more experienced, there is a course suited to you.

Our blacksmith has been delivering courses for over a decade; he has a wealth of experience in iron forging and an extensive knowledge of its historical background. On each of our courses, you will benefit from 1-2-1 tutelage, enabling you to get the utmost from your experience.

½ Day Course:

Course details: Participant(s) will learn how to produce a key ring, letter opener, s-hook and a poker, as well as developing an understanding of the history of blacksmithing and its links to the region.

Single participant fee: £100, (£85 for members)

Joint participant fee: £155 (£135 for members)

Course details: Participant(s) will learn how to produce ackey ring, letter opener, coat hook and poker or rake, as well as developing an understanding of the history of blacksmithing and its links to the region.

Single participant fee: £195 (£165 for members)

Joint participant fee: £335 (£285 for members)

One Day Course:

Course details: Participant(s) will learn how to produce ackey ring, letter opener, coat hook and poker or rake, as well as developing an understanding of the history of blacksmithing and its links to the region.

Single participant fee: £195 (£165 for members)

Joint participant fee: £335 (£285 for members)

Two Day Course:

Day 1: Participant will learn how to produce a fireside set, consisting of a rake, poker, brush.

Day 2: Participants will learn how to produce a fireside holder(*participants will work together to forge one fireside set).

Single Participant Fee: £350 (£300 for members)

Joint Participant Fee: £450 (£350 for members) *participants will work together to forge one fireside set).

Refreshments:

Free tea and coffee are provided on all of courses, and one and two day courses include lunch.

Age Restrictions:

All participants must be over the age of 16. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
