Perfect for beginners and those with previous mosaic experience, this class offers the opportunity to create a unique artwork. -Following a detailed Roman-inspired pattern, you’ll be guided through the process of assembling your mosaic with an emphasis on tile placement along curves, a hallmark of ancient mosaic artistry. -You’ll learn how to cut and shape tiles with precision using professional tools, and how to work with the design to create rhythm, flow, and timeless style. -Once your piece is complete, you’ll grout your work to add the final touch, bringing your mosaic to life with depth and polish. Taught in a relaxed, supportive setting with expert instruction, this workshop is both a technical and creative deep dive —perfect for those looking to advance their skills while connecting with the rich traditions of classical art. Tutor Details: Passionate about sharing the joy of mosaic art, Jacqui brings over 20 years of experience in leading large-scale community projects and workshops. Having relocated to the UK from South Africa, she now hosts engaging and dynamic workshops for adults, school children, community groups, and corporate teams, all with a focus on promoting creativity, collaboration, and well-being. In South Africa, she owned and operated Mosaic Works, a successful mosaic studio, and was a founding member of the Mosaic Association South Africa (MASA). During her time there, she led numerous large-scale community projects, using mosaic art as a tool to unite and empower communities through creative expression.
