Course details:

Discover the beauty of watercolour in this inspiring hands-on workshop with renowned artist, Daniel Lopez. During the workshop, participants will be introduced to the artist’s unique approach to the medium, exploring its fluid qualities, and learning how to draw inspiration from their surroundings.

The session will consist of:

  • A live demonstration as the artist shares insights into their creative process.
  • A guided walk around Avoncroft’s grounds. Participants will be encouraged to use cameras or phones to capture details, textures, and scenes. The site’s beautiful grounds and historic buildings will provide plenty of inspiration along the way.
  • The creation of your own watercolour piece, working either from their photos or inspired by the demonstration. The artist will be on hand throughout, offering personalised guidance and feedback.

Perfect for beginners and experienced painters alike, this workshop is an opportunity to slow down, see with fresh eyes, and immerse yourself in the joy of painting within a beautiful setting.

Tutor Details:  Daniel López is a Spanish-born artist based in Birmingham, best known for his expressive watercolours. Trained in Fine Arts in Spain and Cuba, Daniel has developed a distinctive style that emphasizes atmosphere, bold brushwork, and the fleeting energy of urban life. Since moving to the UK in 2015, his work has been exhibited across Europe, and he regularly teaches workshops sharing his passion for watercolour.
