Stained glass has been used for thousands of years, beginning with the Ancient Romans and Egyptians, who produced small objects made from coloured glass.

Course Details:

Join our hands-on workshop and learn the ancient craft of stained glass. In this session you will:

  • Choose your Christmas-themed pattern (two options will be available)
  • Select your glass
  • Wrap the edges of each piece of glass in copper foil
  • Learn how to solder to bind the pieces together
  • Clean and finish the item to takeaway

Tutor details: Marc has decades of experience creating distinct and creative glass works across the UK and overseas. He is now dedicating his time to teaching, bringing the same passion and dedication to his craft to the classroom. His workshops enable participants to be creative and learn the fundamentals of stained glass techniques, including cutting, leading, and copper foiling, under the tutelage of master of their craft.

Fee: £55 or £50 for members. Includes Museum admission (£15 per person) and access to our 19-acre site and 30 historic buildings.

Participant information:

-The workshop will be restricted to a maximum of 8 participants.

-All materials will be provided.

-Over 18s only.

Refreshments: Breakfast tea and filter coffee provided free of charge. The Museum tearoom, serving a range of hot and cold food, will also be open. Food can be pre-booked by the tutor on arrival.

Cancellation Policy: All workshops are non-refundable, unless the Museum is required to cancel.
