Be a part of a centuries’ old rural tradition to celebrate the arrival of spring at Avoncroft Museum’s special May Day event from 10.30am on Monday 5th May.

Visitors are urged to come to Avoncroft Museum of Historic Buildings in Bromsgrove to join in celebrations to herald the beginning of spring, including maypole dancing and traditional games in the Museum’s 19 acre grounds.

There will be also be the chance for visitors to try their hand at archery, take a ride on Avoncroft’s popular miniature train, enjoy traditional fairground attractions or meet new furry and prickly friends with Animal Mania and Hedgehog Rescue.

Less energetic visitors are welcome to browse the stalls at the craft fair, or sit back and relax with a picnic or in Avoncroft’s award-winning Edwardian Tea Room.

For those interested in the Midlands’ industrial heritage, there will be demonstrations of chain-making in the 19th century chain shop rescued from Cradley in the Black Country.
