Car enthusiasts are invited to Avoncroft Museum of Historic Buildings on Sunday 28th June to celebrate the region’s motoring heritage at a rally of over 50 classic Austin cars in the Museum’s grounds. Members of the Pre-War Austin Car Club will be at Avoncroft with their vintage cars from the golden years of motoring. Visitors can get a close up look at models ranging from 1900 to the 1940s and will have the chance to chat with their proud owners. Weather permitting, Avoncroft’s famous 19th century windmill will be “sailed” and visitors will be able to go inside the mill for a tour of the roundhouse and to talk to the team of specially trained volunteers. Visitors can also stroll around the Museum’s 19 acre grounds and explore the collection of 30 historic buildings, view the National Telephone Kiosk Collection and make a pit-stop at Avoncroft’s award-winning Tea Room.
